I think that it would be a great feature to add to FDM ( Window means that whenever a starts, a window should popup to show you how much progress its making, etc.).

humm, can it programming with plugin enhancement's APi's for
enabling to prorgamming plugins, there can coding too a
window as snapin in starting of the FTM how
Adobe Photoshop, if starting, read all what is in ../plugins/XXX
and integrate it.. e.g. the window too, spetcial AV-Plugins,
mailplugins, networkplugin (for sessions/lanpartys), bittorrentplugin,
and more... it is need only a pluginapi for snapin... and s were can programming too, can write plugins too under gpl, look like the Total-Commander but for FDM , take a look:

if i see right, we need only a Plugin Writer's Guide ( look there and scroll down ) for writing plugins if even the pluginssystem ( window) integrated ? Humm, i think, a specialy pluginsection in options was a idea, for bind in the plugins in the Head-Programm, isnt it ?

How about making seperate little tray icons for each ? And the icon could show the percentage like Total Commander or something? And more info could pop up it's toolhint... I think it'd be cool

It's god to have progress dialogs or tray icons, but let them display ONLY on demand. What happens if I have many sumultaneous s? I don't want my taskbar covered with progress windows/tray icons!
There are managers that are really good but they ALWAYS display a progress dialog for EVERY .
I just remove them form my computer.
