Tried that before posting here and it didn't solve my problem. When the initiates, the small window appears on top of the main window. I don't mind the small one with the real-time details, but the main window is a bother to close every time. I need to try something else

You did not describe content of the window. It may be drop box or progress info window. Both of them you can turn off from menu Options | Settings | General | Miscellaneous | Essential.

As I said in all the previous posts, I don't want the MAIN WINDOW shown when the starts. The main window is that window of the application that appears when you right click the tray icon and choose "Show Main Window". You are the developers and don't know which window is the MAIN one? Maybe i should be looking for help somewhere else...

What FDM version are you using?
Did you mark "Start minimized" and "Minimize to tray" in Options | Settings | General | Essentials?
Is your FDM main window minimized to tray icon when you are clicking link?

I'm afraid, FDM has not defined such an action. You should describe more precisely your request in the topic All feature requests in "Feature suggestions" forum.

It's always been set to be start/run minimized because i don't need to see the main window at all times. This happens regardless of version, 3.x, 2.x all versions. I'm starting to get (forcibly) used to this now. Thanks for the efforts though.

Place checkmark at General>Essential>Close button minimizes window, and you will not see the main window each time you start a .

That option is checked by default (I always like to have programs minimize when pressing X) and I have no intention of having it otherwise because i'd have to restart FDM a couple of dozen times a day. So this doesn't help either.

FDM must be minimized to tray (i.e. its title should not be visible on the task bar).

yes, it is always kept minimized (as i said..) but when i click the link to something, the main window will appear behind the one with the info.
