What OS?MELERIX wrote:disabling AV or disabling monitoring in FDM does not change anything IE still will crash, except if I disable the FDM add-on or uninstall FDM completely.
btw, I'm not using Norton or something related, just Windows Defender which is part of the OS.
Do you have problems even when opening and closing IE with a new tab only or maybe there are problems with some pages?
In the first case there may be some other conflicting add-on in IE. You should turn off other add-ons and test IE with FDM only.
In the second case you should provide url to any webpage that causes IE crash. That way other people can your observations.
Note that some consecutive crashes may be caused by the first one. IE may runs every tab as a separate process and when it crashes it may close all processes but one which will hang unfinished. In this case you should run Task Manager to kill that process. Sometimes crash leads to memory corruption and system restart may be needed.

Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 10 Build 9926.
Usher wrote:Do you have problems even when opening and closing IE with a new tab only or maybe there are problems with some pages?
only on close or sometimes randomly when closing a tab.
Usher wrote:In the first case there may be some other conflicting add-on in IE. You should turn off other add-ons and test IE with FDM only.
the only Add-On is AdBlock Plus, but not sure it could be causing this, I'll need to check that later.

if you want steps to reproduce...
- open IE.
- open FDM website.
- click on FDM forum.
- open to this topic.
- close IE.
then it will show the error message.

don't worry I'm not a common .
Re: FDM 3.9.4 73666b
ok, after some research I can say that FDM addon for IE have conflicts with Adblock Plus addon, and that causes the error window on close.

I have fdm lite latest stable i.e 1485.
Win 7 64
I have only 1 addon i.e Adblock Plus on Internet Explorer.
I browsed quite a few sites & also tried that you have mentioned.
No probs here.
fdm lite version here.
Adblock Plus latest i.e 3-4 days back Adblock Plus new version was released.
So if you dont have latest then try it.
Dont know if the prob could be only with full fdm.

Anybody experiencing this or am I doing something wrong?
Sorry been out of town, I should explain further. I am ing files daily saved on my host server via cron job and I am ing them to my computer by FTP, nothing has ever changed as far as links or where to to on my computer. FDM just refuses to resume any s if a scheduled day/time is missed because the computer is offline.
Re: FDM 3.9.4 73666b
Have you tried to change task properties in Windows Task Scheduler?genestoy wrote:I am ing files daily saved on my host server via cron job and I am ing them to my computer by FTP, nothing has ever changed as far as links or where to to on my computer. You can also try workaround:
- Run BIOS setup and change options to boot automatically at a specific time.
- Change your Windows settings to without confirmation.
- Run FDM and change options to load FDM at startup and shutdown computer when done.

Thanks for the advice but I don't want to do that---
OK, here is what I have discovered (not that it helps resolve the problem) but enables me to continue using FDM. I entered 3 new tasks in the scheduler (same as the 3 old ones) and deleted the old tasks that would not restart themselves and now FDM is working as usual (until I leave the computer off when the next scheduled task takes place). This is the only way that FDM will continue to run the tasks so there is a bug there as FDM "should" just resume where it left off when the computer is turned back on.
Windows 7 task scheduler has this option - "Run task as soon as possible after a scheduled start is missed" but I don't see that option in FDM and don't know where to add it?
Re: FDM 3.9.4 73666b
I'm sorry for my misleading suggestions. FDM does NOT integrate with Windows Task Scheduler so some advanced options may be unavailable in FDM. However you should try to edit old tasks and revive them (f.e. change start time).genestoy wrote:Windows 7 task scheduler has this option - "Run task as soon as possible after a scheduled start is missed" but I don't see that option in FDM and don't know where to add it?
