I'm using 930, and I would like to report that the unicode handling is still not work.

Also, I'm not sure what would be the different, but for some link, after click "cancle" in FDM it fall back to "standard" IE dialog, while for some link it goes to non-standard one. It is clear because I'm using IE9 beta, so the two is very different. Both file have the same extension (mkv). The only thing I can spot with the ones that actually fall back to standard dialog is it's in the abcd.efgh.1234.mkv (like tv shows files usually are). I think it would be best if you could make it always fall back to standard dialog, since that's the only way unicode filename works for now.

I can confirm that. It breaks some Turkish characters.

Hi, I just want to report that after using this awesome software for more than 15 month, I just noticed after ing more than 1200 file with FDM, the software freeze at launch and takes around 5-15 second to start.

After removing all files and history in FDM, everything went so well. I'm not sure if this is normal thing but all about this is that i want to inform developers about it.

another thing is.. How can I help or donate for developers? they need our I guess. :wink:

Yes, this is normal. FDM warns s when the size of history.sav file is bigger than 1 MB, but you may see noticeable delay earlier. In this case you can:
- remove unneeded s from list with Shift+Delete;
- change history settings in menu Options | Settings | General | History;
- change logging settings in Options | Settings | s | Essentials.
Torrents in list are another cause of startup delay. Torrents usually have many sections and checking status of every section requires a lot of time, even more then checking all the rest of files.

Note: Shift+Delete also deletes a file on disk.

I'm using Opera. And I do not like s recapture.
So I've made such option in Opera's menu:

Code: Select all

Item, " with FDM"=Execute program,"C:\Program Files\Opera\program\FDM\fdm.exe","%l"

So when FDM is not running, this menu works perfect, but only for first link.
The second one opens the main window and window.
The third with Opera's menu option only opens main FDM window.

for opera 10.50 and above,you should use this.

Code: Select all

Item, With FDM = Copy link, -2, "urlinfo" & Execute program,"F:\Program Files\Free Manager\FDM.exe" ……%c……

What is is the difference?
And what is "……%c……"?

This version shows quite a strange behaviour with the allow browser to after pressing cancel option, the resulting window has an fdm icon on it and it's proportions are a bit off. like it's not really letting the browser .

Epecially when you consider that this window also pops up in IE9 which has a different mechanism than those windows.

The old behaviour in this area was better. It made me disable browser monitoring.

With build 930 and Opera 10.63 (both latest version at time of post), this YouTube link cannot be intercepted for FLV :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOI4OF7iIr4
It is VEVO branded, but other VEVO links seem to work ok (such as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujDowNVINrk)

A suggestion for the UI: why require the to search for a specific URL when adding a flash video ? To take inspiration from Orbit's Grab++ interface, please consider showing a full list of all "sniffed" streams and make filtering an optional field. I suspect that the problem I'm reporting above would be solvable with such a list, especially if the list were sorted by timestamp discovered (or even kept open and auto-refreshed, as Grab++ does.)

Kudos for a fantastic piece of software, I have eagerly discontinued using all other managers in favor of this one exclusively.
